Agrifirm and Nutrifeed to join forces in the area of knowledge and innovation for raising young cattle

May 28, 2015

Agrifirm Feed, subsidiary company of the Royal Agrifirm Group, and Nutrifeed, part of FrieslandCampina Ingredients, have signed a partnership agreement with the objective of accelerating innovations for raising young cattle. The basic premise is to provide even better support to dairy farmers in the form of advice and innovative products for raising calves.

With the elimination of the milk quota, dairy farms are faced with the major challenge of finding a balance between healthy economic business operations on the one hand and aspects such as mineral efficiency, animal health and lifespan on the other. Through increased cooperation, Agrifirm and Nutrifeed advisors and specialists will be in a position to even better assist the dairy farmer with knowledge and innovative products and concepts for raising young cattle. The priority here is the accelerated development of products and concepts that contribute to healthy, productive cows and the sustainable development of the dairy farming sector.

Synergy in knowledge across the entire cattle raising period
OPFOK24 gives Agrifirm Feed a great deal of strength in terms of advice and products for the overall young cattle raising period from 0 to 24 months. Nutrifeed has been active for over fifty years in the production of feed for the colostrum and milk period. Nutrifeed uses the milk originating from the members of the FrieslandCampina dairy cooperative. In addition, the company has a great deal of knowledge in the area of young cattle nutrition. The partnership between Agrifirm and Nutrifeed helps the dairy farmer to take optimal care of his calves and to enable them to grow into healthy and productive cows, with due consideration to sustainability aspects such as animal health and lifespan.
