Every year FrieslandCampina processes over five billion kg of milk from 9,000 FrieslandCampina member farmers. This milk is used in a whole range of dairy products for human consumption. Valuable by-products such as cheese whey and skimmed milk are processed by FrieslandCampina’s Industrial Ingredients Group into products for the food, pharmaceutical, nutrition and animal nutrition industries. Nutrifeed processes protein-rich whey products in spray-dried form.

It enables Nutrifeed to produce excellent products and it ensures a constant flow of high quality raw materials. Consistently high quality products and reliability of supply are the cornerstones of Nutrifeed’s business.
Nutrifeed dries its ingredients for milk replacers and concentrates in a special spray-dry tower which is connected to a filtermat after-drying unit. This leads to a powder which is far less hygroscopic compared with dairy products dried via different techniques. The crystallisation and slow cooling processes ensure that the powder particles are uniform in size and flow more readily.
The filtermat drying tower is especially suited to producing so-called fat-filled dairy concentrates. These fat concentrates provide the basis for the manufacture of complete milk replacers and concentrates, which enable an optimal rearing of young animals.
