There is an established international market for goat's milk and sheep's milk. The milk products are used worldwide in infant formulas, milk, cheese and yoghurts. This is due to their unique composition, the easy digestion of "natural homogenised" fat, the anti-allergenic properties and the pronounced taste. Pharmaceutical, nutritional and dairy industries are willing to pay a premium price for this milk. By using milk replacers the maximum volume of this premium priced milk can be sold to the market.

The production of goat's and sheep's milk is still dominated by Europe and Oceania, but more and more farms around the world are moving into this area because of the financial returns for farmers and the unique properties for local consumers.

Most of the features of calf 's milk are also present in goat kid's and lamb's milk. Some properties are even more critical and are therefore subject to strict regulation. The high fat/protein ratio in lamb's milk is extremely important and these products should contain more easily digestible fats. Nutrifeed has also optimised the mineral and vitamin content to suit lambs and goat kids.
